DNA Testing For Fathers: The Best Father’s Day Gift That a Kid Can Give

Abstract

One day, a father’s children discuss among themselves where 1 kid says, ‘We should give our father a Father’s Day Gift’. The second kid replies, ‘Okay. But what will be the best gift that will make him feel that we are showing gratitude to him?’ Again, the first kid replies by saying that ‘Our father is ageing and I’m concerned about his health. We want him to survive for a long period of time and maybe even see himself as a grandfather. Don’t you also feel that way?’ The second kid agreed. Both of them were working on the ideal gift for their father that related to health.

What could be the best way a child can show gratitude to his/her father?

Father’s Day is fast approaching. Many kids have numerous ways of showing their gratitude towards their fathers. It would mean that if a father received something, he deserves a lot. That would be the best way a kid can say thank you to his/her father for his endless sacrifice, grooming them, sending them to school, and helping them achieve their desired ambitions and goals.

During the course of a father’s selflessness in his endeavor to see his children succeed, there must have been many stressful moments that took a toll on his health. And, now he will carry on for as long as he can, but his children must pay attention to his health condition.

That means a father has to take a medical test that will let him know if he is carrying any symptoms of a disease because of heredity or because of his current lifestyle.

So, the kids decided to get their father to do a DNA test as they felt it would give them a clear picture of their father’s vulnerability towards any type of disease, especially the rare ones.

What are the benefits of taking a DNA test?

There are many benefits of taking a DNA test. Taking a DNA test will allow a person to detect a disease in their body much sooner, rather than allowing a disease to reach an incurable stage.

1)Health & Medicine

  • Identifies genetic predispositions to certain diseases (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer's, heart conditions), enabling earlier screening and prevention.
  • Reveals carrier status for inherited conditions, which is useful for family planning.
  • Supports pharmacogenomics — understanding how your body may respond to specific medications, helping doctors tailor treatments.

2) Ancestry & Genealogy

  • Traces ethnic and geographic origins, often breaking down ancestry by region or population.
  • Helps connect with biological relatives through DNA matching databases.
  • Can fill gaps in family history that paper records cannot.

3.) Personal Insights

  • Provides information on traits like lactose intolerance, caffeine metabolism, sleep patterns, and muscle composition.
  • Some tests offer insights into fitness and nutrition optimisation based on genetic markers.

4.) Forensic & Legal

  • Establishes paternity or other biological relationships with high accuracy.
  • Used in criminal investigations and the identification of remains.

5.) Protects a newborn from Carrying Diseases

  • A pediatric DNA test helps understand whether the unborn child will carry its parents’ diseases
  • This test will ensure that the child won’t be affected by any diseases after birth.

What did the kids decide?

After a long and thoughtful discussion, both the kids decided to register their father for a DNA test, mainly to check his overall health. So, they booked a DNA test on Father’s Day. Their father will be receiving his DNA testing kit at his doorstep, completely unaware that it is a surprise gift from his children.

And this is how all of you children can show gratitude to your respective fathers by prioritising their health over other gifts. Because you want them to be with you for a longer period of time and see you all achieve many successes. Don’t you?

Yes. You Should!
